Home Visits
We will call to your home in order to assess what your needs may be with regards to flue and stove requirements. This allows us to determine what work may be needed to comply with building regulations. There is normally a charge for this service, but it will be credited towards any work we may do for you.

Smoke Tests
After a chimney fire or if you plan to change the use of an existing flue or chimney it is a requirement that the flue be tested to ensure it is safe to use. To complete a smoke test, we seal the chimney top and bottom and introduce smoke, and then observe the full length of the flue to ensure it is sufficiently airtight to contain combustion products

Spillage Tests
A simple test to ensure a natural draft is present.

CCTV Inspection
A colour CCTV system can be used to assess the condition of the flue. This is helpful after a serious event such as a chimney fire in order to determine structural integrity. Insurance companies tend to look for a written report, and some request either video or photographic evidence. Our superior CCTV systems allow us to provide such evidence.

Showroom Visit
For some, a trip to the showroom is all that is required. If you are building a new home, bring down your plans so we can discuss the flue requirements and preparation work required. If you require work to an existing property, please feel free to bring down photos showing where you would like a stove, the outside of the house including existing chimneys and bring us your room dimensions too so we can work out the correct size of stove required. Don't be afraid to bring us a sketch or too. The more info you can give us the better we can help.

Email
Sometimes a few photos or diagrams emailed to us is all that is required. We would be happy to discuss your needs through this method. Send images and details to info@cdsf.co.uk, If you are doing so, we need a photograph of the existing fireplace set-up if applicable, plus a photo of the outside of the house so we can determine the height of the existing chimney in relation to ground level. If you are hoping to have a new twin wall flue installed, then photos of where you hope to place the stove in the room, and one of the outside of the house indicating where the flue should come out will be helpful too. Either option we need the room sizes to help determine the heat required from your new stove, and your full contact details.
